50th Anniversary of the Convocation Center
50 Year Rewind & If These Walls Could Talk Campaign

The Convocation Center at Ohio University is home to the Bobcats' basketball, wrestling and volleyball teams. It also hosts graduation twice a year and orientation for freshmen. In 2018, the Convocation Center will turn 50 years old. For my senior capstone class, the two individual classes competed against each other with different campaigns. My class's campaigns, "50 Year Rewind" and "If These Walls Could Talk" were chosen to be implemented.

"50 Year Rewind" is a campaign that will honor the 50 years the Convocation Center has been around. Every month will be dedicated to celebrating a different decade, complete with free food, movie showings, events and of course, themed basketball games.

"If These Walls Could Talk" is a campaign that focuses on the memories created in the Convocation Center. Both alumni and current students alike will share stories by sending in a picture with a caption that explains the memory captured. Little by little, the walls of the Convocation Center will be completely filled with memories captured within the Convocation Center, showing current students that Bobcat love runs far beyond the college years.

Rocky Brands is a retailer that creates and sells work boots ranging from military, to outdoor, to hospital approved shoes. My group's objective was to create a native advertising campaign which would help push Rocky Brands' mission statement and goal.
My group decided to create a website that featured stories of "unsung heroes". We wrote about regular everyday people that were in the right place at the right time and were able to make a difference in the lives of others.
The website was paid for by the class, so it was shut down after the semester ended, but the stories in the document were the ones featured on the website.

Since the Ohio State Fair has approximately 900 employees, it's impossible to update all of them individually. In order to keep our employees up to date on what events the fair will be holding that day, I was responsible for writing daily newsletters. These newsletters were written in a press release style format and highlighted the concerts, specials and competitions of the day. Also included in the newsletter were fun facts, a Q&A with a seasonal employee and a game. This is an example of one of the news releases I wrote during my time as an intern.

Collaboratively, all four interns for the Ohio State Fair wrote a 30-second advertisement for the radio. This highlighted the "Togetherness" campaign that the Ohio State Fair followed for the 2017 year.
